Construction is underway for the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York, set to be the first modular stadium of its kind dedicated to cricket. With completion expected in just three months, this groundbreaking 34,000-seat venue is poised to host eight matches during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, including the highly anticipated fixture between rivals India and Pakistan on June 9.

Designed by the acclaimed architectural firm Populous, known for iconic stadiums like the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, this stadium represents a pinnacle in sporting infrastructure. Populous is also the architect of record for both the New York Yankees and New York Mets, adding further prestige to the project.
Sustainability takes center stage in this endeavor, with the grandstands, formerly utilized for the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix, being repurposed for the T20 World Cup venue. This innovative approach underscores a commitment to environmental responsibility while ensuring a world-class experience for spectators.
ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice expressed excitement about the stadium's unveiling, heralding it as a significant milestone leading up to the monumental ICC event. With preparations underway, partnerships with top-tier suppliers are ensuring that the modular stadium meets the highest standards, guaranteeing an unforgettable experience for players and fans alike.

Beyond cricket, the stadium promises an immersive experience for all attendees, featuring a dedicated fan zone, diverse food and beverage offerings, and cutting-edge media and broadcast facilities. Additionally, a drop-in square wicket, akin to those at Adelaide Oval and Eden Park, is being curated in Florida and will be transported to New York in May.
Situated just 30 miles east of Manhattan, the venue boasts excellent transport links and ample parking, with three nearby train stations providing convenient access. Fans are invited to be part of history by attending a cricket festival and witnessing the world's best players in action, as the venue hosts eight T20 World Cup matches, commencing with Sri Lanka versus South Africa on June 3.
