The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality conglomerate, has announced the signing of Taj Mysore, marking the iconic brand’s debut in Karnataka’s historic city. This 141-key luxury hotel, nestled at the foot of Chamundi Hills and overlooking the majestic Mysore Palace, promises to redefine hospitality in the region with its regal Indo-Saracenic architecture and world-class amenities .
Strategically located on 5.03 acres adjacent to the Mall of Mysore, Taj Mysore offers panoramic views of the Mysore Zoo, a lush golf estate, and the city’s iconic landmarks. The property seamlessly blends Mysore’s rich heritage with contemporary luxury, featuring:
Dining Excellence: An all-day dining restaurant, specialty restaurant, bar, and lounge showcasing local and global cuisines.
Wellness & Leisure: A spa, gym, and swimming pool for holistic rejuvenation.
Event Spaces: Over 11,000 sq. ft. of banqueting facilities, ideal for weddings, corporate events, and social gatherings .
Mysore, renowned as Karnataka’s cultural capital, attracts travelers to its palaces, Brindavan Gardens, and Chamundi Hills. With the addition of Taj Mysore, IHCL expands its footprint in the state to 23 hotels, including 10 under development. Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President of Real Estate & Development at IHCL, emphasized, “Mysore’s growth as a leisure and business hub, driven by IT and manufacturing sectors, positions it as a key market. Taj Mysore will cater to both domestic and international travelers, enhancing the city’s tourism potential” .
The project strengthens IHCL’s collaboration with DM South India Hospitality, part of the DM Group with over three decades of expertise in real estate and hospitality. Sushen Mohan Gupta, Director of DM South India Hospitality, stated, “Taj Mysore will curate distinctive experiences, elevating Mysore’s status as a luxury destination”.

Taj Mysore aligns with IHCL’s Accelerate 2030 strategy, focusing on capital-light growth and portfolio diversification. In 2024 alone, IHCL signed 85 new properties globally, with Taj contributing 19 signings, reinforcing its dominance in luxury hospitality .
