Malaysia is now Visa free for Indians! Why and till when?

In a significant move to boost tourism and strengthen bilateral ties, Malaysia has announced visa-free entry for Indian citizens starting from December 1, 2023. This decision was made by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim during his speech at the People’s Justice Party’s annual congress in Putrajaya.

Under the new policy, Indian passport holders will be able to stay in Malaysia for up to 30 days without obtaining a visa. This will undoubtedly facilitate easier travel and encourage more Indian tourists to explore the vibrant country.

Prime Minister Ibrahim expressed his hope that this initiative would foster closer relations between Malaysia and India. He stated, “This decision is a testament to our commitment to strengthening our relationship with India. We believe that visa-free travel will encourage more Indians to visit Malaysia, and this will have a positive impact on our economy and tourism sector.”

The removal of visa requirements for Indian citizens is expected to boost tourist arrivals from India significantly. India is one of Malaysia’s largest source markets for tourism, and the visa-free policy is expected to attract more Indian tourists to the country.

This decision is also seen as a positive step towards enhancing trade and investment opportunities between the two countries. India is a key economic partner for Malaysia, and the visa-free policy is expected to facilitate further collaboration in various sectors.
