This exciting announcement, made by Datuk Awang Alik Jeman from Malaysia’s Home Ministry, comes as part of the country’s preparations for Visit Malaysia Year 2026 and its chairmanship of ASEAN in 2025. It’s also Malaysia’s way of saying, “Hey, we love having you over!”
And it’s not just words – the numbers say it all. Indian tourists have been flocking to Malaysia like never before. Between January and November this year, over 1 million Indian travelers landed in Malaysia, a jaw-dropping 71.7% increase compared to last year!

Ready to plan your trip? Here are the essentials:
Visa-free travel: No visa needed for Indian passport holders from December 1, 2023, to December 31, 2026.
Stay duration: Up to 30 days per visit.
Must-haves for entry:
Passport valid for at least six months.
Return or onward flight tickets within 30 days of arrival.
Proof of accommodation – yes, your hotel booking needs to be confirmed and paid.
Sufficient funds (think at least $50/day).
Fill out the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) online before your trip.
Oh, and don’t forget the final profiling by Malaysian Immigration upon arrival.
