Known as the "INDIA selfie point," this remarkable spot not only displays the natural grandeur of the region but also evokes a sense of patriotism among tourists, creating a distinctive and immersive atmosphere.

Reports indicate that last year, the Army introduced the 'Kaman Setu' zero-point at the LoC, granting tourists access to the area. Following this, the selfie point, conceived by artist and RNAF founder Rouble Nagi, was unveiled to the public around Republic Day this year. Strategically situated along National Highway-44, this structure offers a sweeping vista of the picturesque Jhelum river, contributing to local pride and enriching the overall tourist experience. The Army expressed gratitude to Rouble Nagi's foundation, renowned for its women empowerment initiatives, for gifting this structure. The selfie point serves as a testament to the growing sense of nationalism in the valley. Officials familiar with the project stated that it was designed to create a unique and engaging environment for both individuals and groups.

Rouble Nagi, daughter of a retired Army officer and the creative force behind the installation, views sculpting the nation's name through her art as a tribute to the sacrifices made by various segments of society for the country's freedom. She expressed her pride in erecting the sculpture #INDIA at Uri, underscoring the profound importance of honoring those sacrifices that have secured the freedoms enjoyed today. Nagi urged people to include Uri in their travel itineraries, emphasizing the significance of acknowledging the sacrifices made for freedom. Her influence extends beyond the INDIA selfie point, as she has been instrumental in establishing selfie spots in various locations across Kashmir, including the revamped Polo View market, Rajbagh, and Dal Lake.
