South Korea has become an increasingly sought-after destination for Indian travelers, with a remarkable 44% surge in visitors from India in 2024, totaling 176,668 arrivals. This growing enthusiasm stems from South Korea’s rich cultural experiences, vibrant entertainment industry, and breathtaking natural beauty, all of which deeply resonate with Indian tourists.
Among the many attractions, the much-anticipated cherry blossom season remains a major draw, painting the country in delicate hues of pink and white from late March to early April. Notable spots such as Seoul’s Yeouido Park, Gyeongbokgung Palace, Jinhae’s Gunhangje Festival, and Jeju Island offer mesmerizing landscapes and festive celebrations during this time.

To further enhance the travel experience, South Korea is set to introduce an electronic arrival card (e-Arrival Card) system for international travelers, including Indian visitors, starting February 24, 2025. This digital initiative aims to streamline the entry process by replacing traditional paper arrival forms with a more convenient online submission system, ensuring a hassle-free arrival experience.
Implementation Date: February 24, 2025.
Submission Timeline: Travelers must submit their e-Arrival Card at least three days before their scheduled arrival in South Korea. Once issued, the card remains valid for 72 hours.
Transition Period: From February 24, 2025, to December 2025, both paper and electronic arrival cards will be accepted. From January 2026 onwards, only electronic submissions will be permitted.
Access the Application Portal: Visit the official South Korean immigration website or download the designated mobile application.
Complete the Form: Provide necessary personal information, travel details, and any other required data.
Submit the Application: Ensure submission at least three days before your intended arrival date.
Receive Confirmation: Upon approval, a confirmation will be sent, which should be presented upon arrival in South Korea.
It is important to note that Indian citizens must obtain a visa prior to their arrival, as there is currently no visa-on-arrival facility for Indian nationals traveling to South Korea. Ensuring all travel documents, including the e-Arrival Card and visa, are in order will guarantee a seamless entry process.
