No Daytime Flights in Lucknow Airport from March to July 2025

Planning a trip to or from Lucknow? Be prepared for major flight schedule changes at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport (CCSIA). From March 1 to July 15, 2025, all flight operations between 10 AM and 6 PM will be suspended due to a large-scale runway upgrade.

Why is Lucknow Airport Closing During the Day?

The airport is undergoing runway resurfacing and modernization to enhance safety and efficiency. Key upgrades include:

  • Runway recarpeting to improve durability and aircraft traction

  • Installation of LED airfield lighting to reduce power consumption by 50%

  • Construction of a new taxiway to ease congestion and improve aircraft movement

These improvements will help accommodate growing passenger traffic and ensure smoother operations in the long run.

How Will This Impact Travel Plans?

  • Over 1,088 flights will be affected, with schedule changes and potential cancellations.

  • Around 1.84 lakh passengers may need to reschedule their flights.

  • Airlines will adjust flight timings to operate outside the closure window.

  • Refunds will be provided for canceled flights.

Travel Tips for Passengers

  • Check flight schedules in advance to avoid last-minute surprises.

  • Book flights early to secure preferred timings, as limited slots could lead to higher fares.

  • Consider alternative routes, such as Kanpur Airport, where some flights may be redirected.

  • Opt for early morning or late evening flights to bypass operational restrictions.
