Bengaluru, known for its vibrant street art and dynamic cultural scene, has a new resident turning heads; the Internet-famous Chill Guy! A mural of the viral meme character has appeared on a wall near HSR Layout Sector 1, and it’s already becoming the talk of the town.
The artwork features the anamorphic dog dressed in shades of blue with bright red shoes, exuding his signature laid-back vibe. However, this “Chill Guy” has a twist; his face is unique from the original meme, giving him an Indian flair.
The wall art quickly gained traction on social media after being shared by a local user on X (formerly Twitter). The post garnered more than 30,000 views, with users contributing their own witty takes.
One commenter remarked, “God, he looks like he’s judging me instead of radiating chill vibes,” while another chimed in, “That’s our boy Lefthander!” The mural’s mustachioed look earned it praise as an “Indianised” version of the beloved meme.

For those new to the meme, the Chill Guy was first introduced by American artist Philip Banks on October 4, 2022. Banks described him as a “chill guy that lowkey doesn’t give a [bleep],” embodying an effortlessly cool persona. The original character is a human-like brown dog wearing a sweater, jeans, sneakers, and a smirk, with his hands tucked casually into his pockets.
This quirky character has transcended its meme roots, even becoming the face of a cryptocurrency token named ChillGuy. Launched earlier this month, the token briefly surged to a value of $500 million before settling at $440 million as of November 26, according to CoinMarketCap.
The Chill Guy mural adds to Bengaluru’s growing reputation as a hub for street art and creative expression. HSR Layout, in particular, is becoming a hotspot for unique wall art with Bengaluru's 'Chill Guy' atmosphere.
So, the next time you’re in HSR Layout, don’t forget to stop by and snap a photo with Bengaluru’s own “Indianised” Chill Guy. Who knows? His laid-back vibes might just rub off on you!
