Haryana's latest tourist attraction, a hot air balloon safari, took off in Pinjore on November 10, 2023. Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar himself took the inaugural ride, along with Assembly Speaker Gian Chand Gupta and Tourism Minister Kanwar Pal.
The safari offers tourists a bird's eye view of the region's natural beauty, including the Shivalik mountain range, the Yamuna river, and the lush green fields. It's a great way to experience the beauty of Haryana from a different perspective.

Khattar, who himself took a ride in the hot air balloon along with Assembly Speaker Gian Chand Gupta and Tourism Minister Kanwar Pal, said that the state has immense potential for adventure tourism. He added that the hot air balloon safari project will not only give a new identity to the area but will also help create employment opportunities.
Pinjore-Kalka in the Panchkula region is considered the gateway to Himachal Pradesh and holds great tourism potential. The hot air balloon safari project will offer tourists a unique bird's eye view of the region's natural beauty, including the Shivalik mountain range, the Yamuna river, and the lush green fields.
The hot air balloon safari project is being operated by a private company, which has obtained all the necessary safety certificates. The company has fixed the rate at Rs 13,000 per person per ride.
The Haryana government is also providing financial assistance to the company to make the project viable. The government has granted Rs 72 lakh to the company as Viability Gap Funding (VGF) for two years.
The Haryana government is also developing the Shivalik mountain region and the Aravalli region from the tourism point of view. The government is also building the world's largest jungle safari park in Gurugram district.
The hot air balloon safari project in Pinjore is a welcome step towards promoting adventure tourism in Haryana. It is expected to attract tourists from all over the country and the world, and boost the state's economy.
In addition to the above, here are some other benefits of the hot air balloon safari project:
It will create awareness about the rich cultural and historical heritage of Haryana.
It will help to promote sustainable tourism practices.
It will provide a platform for local artisans and entrepreneurs to showcase their products and services.
It will contribute to the overall development of the region.
The Haryana government is committed to making the state a major tourist destination. The hot air balloon safari project is one of the many initiatives that the government is taking to promote tourism in the state.
