In a bid to promote sustainable tourism and showcase the pristine beauty of the state, the Himachal Pradesh government has identified 11 eco-tourism sites across various forest divisions.
11 New Eco-tourism Sites in Himachal Pradesh

- Neugal Park, Swaar, Bir Billing, and Saurabh Van Vihar in the Palampur forest division
- Kheerganga, Kasol, and Sumarupa in the Parvati forest division
- Shogi camping site, Narkanda, Sojha, and Potter Hill camping site under the Shimla forest division
Each of these sites will be developed in an area of one hectare, with a focus on preserving the natural environment and promoting responsible tourism practices. The government has also fixed a reserve price for the development and operation of these sites through outsourcing.
Speaking on the initiative, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that the state government is committed to promoting eco-tourism on a large scale. He added that the development of these sites will not only boost tourism but also create employment and self-employment opportunities in the state.
Tourism to benefit from the move

The move is expected to attract eco-conscious tourists from around the world, who are looking for responsible and sustainable travel experiences. The development of these sites will also help in promoting local handicrafts, cuisine, and culture.
The Himachal Pradesh government has been taking several steps to promote eco-tourism in the state. In recent years, the government has developed a number of eco-trails, homestays, and camping sites. The government has also been working on promoting responsible tourism practices among tourists and stakeholders.
