Argentina Offers 90-Day Visa-Free Entry for Indians

Indian passport holders with certain valid U.S. visas or a U.S. Green Card can travel to Argentina for tourism without applying for a separate Argentine visa. Eligible travellers can stay for up to 90 days.

Who Can Travel Visa-Free to Argentina?

The exemption applies to Indian citizens who hold a valid and current U.S. visa in one of the categories specified by Argentina. These include:

• P1, P2 or P3

• H-1B

Indian citizens with a valid U.S. Green Card are also eligible under the exemption.

How Long Can Indians Stay in Argentina?

Eligible Indian travellers can stay in Argentina for a maximum of 90 days for tourism without an Argentine consular visa or electronic travel authorization (AVE/ETA).

The policy came into effect on August 28, 2025, under Resolution 353/2025 issued by Argentina's Ministry of the Interior. The Argentine Embassy in India updated its tourist visa information in March 2026.

Important U.S. Visa Requirement

Not all U.S. visas qualify for this facility. Argentina specifically lists the eligible U.S. visa categories, so travellers should check whether their U.S. visa falls within the approved categories before planning their trip.

The Argentine Embassy also states that a minimum of 90 days of validity may be required on the eligible U.S. visa or Green Card from the date of entry into Argentina.

Tourism Purposes Only

The exemption is specifically for tourism. Indian travellers entering Argentina for purposes other than tourism must apply for the appropriate Argentine visa, even if they hold an eligible U.S. visa.

What If You Don't Have an Eligible U.S. Visa?

Indian passport holders who do not have one of the specified U.S. visas or a Green Card must follow Argentina's regular tourist visa process.

According to the Argentine Embassy in India, Indian nationals applying for a regular tourist visa can do so through an Argentine consulate. The embassy also states that tourist visas for Indian nationals are free of charge under a bilateral agreement.
