Indian travellers looking to explore less-travelled corners of Europe have something new to look forward to. Air India has announced a new interline partnership with Latvia’s flag carrier, airBaltic - a move that promises easier, more seamless travel between India and destinations across Northern and Eastern Europe.
With this partnership in place, flyers can now book single-ticket journeys that connect Air India’s international long-haul flights with airBaltic’s extensive European network. The two airlines will link up via key transit points like Munich, Zurich, and Copenhagen, making it easier for Indian passengers to reach cities such as Riga (Latvia), Tallinn (Estonia), and Vilnius (Lithuania) - destinations that are often off the radar but are rapidly gaining popularity among global travellers.
For Indian tourists, students, and business travellers, this means reduced travel stress: coordinated flight schedules, through check-in for baggage, and fewer headaches when transiting between airlines. Whether you’re planning a scenic Baltic road trip or heading to Europe for studies or work, this tie-up adds a layer of convenience and flexibility.
airBaltic is known for its punctual service and a network that covers over 70 destinations across Europe, Scandinavia, the Middle East, and the Caucasus. By tapping into that network, Air India passengers now have access to a broader range of cities - many of which were previously more difficult to reach from India.
This partnership is part of Air India’s broader strategy to expand its global presence and enhance the travel experience for Indian flyers. In recent months, the airline has been actively entering new codeshare and interline agreements, giving passengers more options when flying abroad.

So, if you’ve been dreaming of strolling through the medieval streets of Tallinn or exploring the cultural charm of Riga, this new partnership makes getting there a whole lot easier. As travel opens up post-pandemic, this move offers more reasons than ever to consider Europe’s beautiful (and often underrated) north.
