This is the biggest highlight of Jaisalmer! Known as Sonar Quila (Golden Fort), it's one of the rare forts in the world where people still live. The ancient sandstone walls look truly incredible, especially when they turn a deep golden color at sunrise and sunset.
The Best Shot: Stand back and photograph the entire fort from a nearby rooftop cafe for a stunning panoramic view. You can also wander through the narrow, twisting lanes inside for cool street photos.

Entry Fee: There is generally no entry fee to walk around the main fort area. There are small fees for visiting the Palace Museum and for your camera.

You can't go to Jaisalmer without seeing the desert! The Sam Sand Dunes offer the perfect chance to capture the endless beauty of the Thar Desert.
The Best Shot: The must-have picture here is the silhouette of a camel or a camel caravan against the colorful sky at sunset. The vast, clean sand dunes make for an amazing background.
Location: Sam, Jaisalmer (about 40 km from the main city).
Entry Fee: There is no entry fee to the dune area. You will pay for fun activities like a camel ride (starts at ₹150–₹500) or a thrilling Jeep Safari (starts at ₹1,000–₹1,500).

This is actually a group of five large, beautiful mansions (havelis) known for their detailed craftsmanship. The work done on the stone here is simply unbelievable!
The Best Shot: Focus on the intricate stone carvings and the perfectly symmetrical balconies (jharokhas). These details make for gorgeous, close-up art shots that really stand out on your feed.

Bada Bagh means "Big Garden," and it is a historical area filled with majestic stone memorials (chhatris) built for Jaisalmer's former kings. It’s famous for one thing: being the best sunset viewpoint.
The Best Shot: The setting sun casts a deep, golden glow over the whole area. Frame the sun between the beautiful dome-shaped memorials for a dramatic, cinematic photograph.
Location: Ramgarh Road, about 6 km North of Jaisalmer.

This peaceful, man-made lake is a lovely green spot surrounded by desert. The entrance, known as Tilon Ki Pol (a carved stone gate), is especially beautiful.
The Best Shot: Visit in the early morning when the water is calm and clear. You can capture perfect reflections of the gate, temples, and sky on the lake's surface.
Location: Postal Colony, Near Tilon Ki Gate, Jaisalmer.
Entry Fee: The lake itself is free to visit. You can hire a small boat for a relaxing ride (starts at ₹100–₹300).
