In a significant move affecting air travel, Delhi Airport has announced a temporary suspension of flight operations for over two hours daily. This measure, starting from January 19 and lasting until January 26, 2024, is in preparation for the upcoming Republic Day celebrations.
Time Frame: The suspension is scheduled between 10:20 AM and 12:45 PM every day.
Duration: The temporary halt in operations will be observed from January 19 to January 26, 2024.
NOTAM Issued: The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has issued a revised Notice to Airmen (NOTAM), enforcing the suspension for the specified period.

Exceptions: The NOTAM does not affect operations of the Indian Air Force (IAF), Border Security Force (BSF), Army aviation helicopters, and state-owned aircraft/helicopters carrying Governors or Chief Ministers.
The suspension is part of the security and preparation measures for Republic Day, a significant national event in India. The measures are to ensure the utmost safety and security during the celebrations.
The partial shutdown of flights is an annual occurrence in the capital city during Republic Day preparations. Similar measures have been taken in the past, reflecting the importance of security during national events.
Passengers are advised to plan their travel accordingly, as the suspension may cause schedule changes and delays. Airlines are expected to revise their flight schedules to accommodate the suspension.
